We currently have a pellet stove and are thinking about purchasing a propane insert and was wondering if it would be cost effective to do so? The cost of pellets has gone to $5 a bag and we use around 3-4 tons which works out to $750-1000.. Other than the initial cost of the purchase I am not sure what the monthly cost of propane would be.
