I think that you will find out propane is higher, to fill a tank its around $800. $900.
buy your pellets by the ton, we can get a ton here for $125. so all you need is a place to store them,

Many places will let you pre-pay for the propane in the summer when it’s cheaper. That will help but the only savings you will probably see is in the time you spend carrying bags of pellets.
