What are your favorite things to roast on an open fire?

rikkiCUPCAKES asked:

I'm going camping with my friends and we want to know what your favorite things are to roast on an open fire. We know, the usually wieners, marshmallows and chestnuts.. but does anyone else have a favorite thing different then that ? or things we can cook on the fire ? thanks !

While traveling, I would like to camp as I go instead of getting a hotel room. Any advice?

    campfire pie.
you can buy the pie iron at just about any camping store.
my grandfather used to do many things with it, but my fav was pizza. you just put two slices of bread with a little sauce and cheese(toppings of your choice), close it and hold over the fire.

Take a banana, cut a slit through the peel and into the flesh (but not all the way through).

Then stuff with chocolate chips and mini marshmellows.

Wrap in foil and stick it in the fire for a while, until it gets nice, hot, and mushy. Devour with a spoon. Mmmmm….

    Hobo Dinner:
Make patty of hamburger meat. Slice up a washed sweet potato or white potato (after thoroughly washing). Place potato slices on sheet of aluminum foil, sprinkle with salt/pepper. Add baby carrots around the edges. Place hamburger meat patty on top, splash with worcestershire or steak sauce. Seal tight, with a double layer of foil. Place on coals for an hour.
