    if you are just going during summer and its warm – just about any bag will do – I bought the one I used at Boy Scout summer camp for less than $15. Not to bad even for backpacking if we are not going far or for an extended period
    Have LL Bean rectangular 40 degree summer bag with Polarguard – packs light and small and have lots of room
    Have LL Bean – 20 degree down mummy bag – packs fairly small and light but I get a little claustrophobic in the mummy, definitely have to keep it dry
    Also have North Face Big Cat 25 degree mummy bag in Polarguard – it is a huge bag so it is a little heavy and bulky but has lots of room
    I’d start with a summer rectangular bag from Walmart or equivalent and work up from there
