You should probably have an indoor wedding because of the unpredictable wedding in December… and I always love those cakes with the fountain built in…
Crab-cakes are a good main dish for the dinner or lunch!

I would say first, set your budget. That should be your guide on where to have the wedding, how many people you can invite, what to serve for food/ drinks, etc.
Once you know what you want to spend, google “Weddings in ______ (your hometown).” This might give you ideas about wedding venues you haven’t even thought of. I would say DEFINITELY choose an indoor venue for a December wedding. Tents and heaters can get expensive, so it’s easier to just keep it inside.
As far as what to serve- if you are trying to keep it simple and save money, just do a dessert reception (but make sure you indicate that on the invite). Otherwise, you can do a cocktail reception (with just lots of hors’dourves), or a buffet or seated dinner. As far as drinks… I think serving just beer, wine and champagne for toasts is pretty typical, unless you want to spring for a full bar. Just know that without food and booze, people will probably leave earlier than normal, lol. (Not saying that is polite, though!)

Alright, well there are tons of decisions to be made in planning a wedding.
First you need to decide what kind of theme you’d like.
You need to choose a color scheme, so you can make sure you have the right colored flowers, dishes for food, cake, decor, etc.
After deciding those two things it’ll all go from there.
For weddings you could serve big platters of shrimp for appetizers or blooming onions, little things you can use your fingers to eat like that.
For the meal you serve just choose something you and your future husband both like alot. I’m sure you must have a meal that you both would die for.
And as for wine, I preferably like red wine. But since your turning 21 before the wedding, you could try different wines and see which one you like best.
