Warlocc asked:
I've got a webcam with a flashlight on it. The light bulb is a little LED, on 5 volts. It's not very bright- I can't see anything. So I want to replace it with the light bulb(s) I have from a little flashlight. The flashlight is three LEDs, running on 6 volts. Can they run effeciently, one volt short?

The webcam LED is there to indicate the cam is active. It’s NOT there for illumination.
The indicator LED might not be supplied with enough power to operate a more powerful LED. You risk overheating something – probably the current-limiting resistor is series with the LED (which may require only 2 volts or so, depending on colour)

they would work but they would be dim. just get you a superbright 5 volt led. try radioshack. heck if it was me i would just tape the flashlight on it.
