You don*t need a floor; the ground is fine; for the pit you can use concrete blocks; bricks ; stones; just about anything ; Make it in a circle or a square big enough for a grill to fit on; or even much bigger and you can use an old bed spring. Good luch; P.S. You do not have to cement anything together just pile them on top of each other. My grandson made ours out of concrete blocks about four high. Works great.

I guess you could use cinder blocks or you could make a circle out of stones for a fire pit if this fire place is going to be on the dirt then you dont really need a bottom but if you want a bottom find a sheet of metal for the bottom of the fire pit.
