The easiest way I know how is to fold the tarp around your sleeping bag and duck tape the edges. Making the tarp a pocket for the sleeping bag. (tip: remember to leave enough overlap of the tarp at the top so you can fold it over your head if it really does start to rain.)
- I hope this was helpful when I did it we used plastic sheeting cut to size instead of a tarp but the same principles should apply

Funny u should ask. I just got back from campin. I use a 8×10 tarp. I lay it in a nice grassy spot, lay on half, and fold it over me. Havent got wet yet.

Wrap the sleeping bag inside at least 2-3 layers of strong trash bags. If the rain goes bad, wrap yourself in trash bags too.
