How do I re-pressurize a propane line after changing tanks?

hager13733 asked:

I have secured all the fittings and checked for leaks, but the gas flow seems to be restricted. This line has a 3-way split to a kitchen stove, hot water heater, and clothes dryer. The pilots all stay lit, but when fired up, the flame is blue and yellow and sputters and will only burn at a low level.

I have 13% left in my home propane tank. How many gallons of gas is left and how long will it last?

check your pressure regulating valve, it may be restricting flow, shut off all appliance pilots, then only light up one, how does the one appliance run? If not o.k. then suspect regulator.

You have to purge the gas line after changing tanks. Keep running the equipment and it should straighten out. Also, make sure the valve on your tank is fully open.

light the stove top and let it get all the air out of the line. when it burns blue you have all the air out If it continues to be a problem replace the regulator on the tank.

Then something else is wrong here. If you turn the gas on initially that should pressurize your lines, nothing more. It sounds like a valve isn’t on all the way. Check the tank valve, make sure this one is on, maybe the guy, when filling turned this one off and, didn’t turn it back on.
