How do I keep my sleeping bag from sliding off of air mattress?

John Lebert asked:

My sleeping bag has a nylon for the outside fabric. It slides off of my air mattress and if I use another sleeping bag, it will slide off of my sleeping bag and fall on to the floor of the tent. This is a real pain, as my air mattress is on a frame about 2.5 feet off the ground.

i use that waffle pattern rubber antislip material. you can find it in small pieces at auto part stores or tool supplies and larger hunks can be found other places. its light and folds up fairly small and works like glue

if you wanna be that cushy in the woods, why dont you bring a box spring? sheesh. do like i do. buy a nice self-inflating matand put it ON THE GROUND. you wont slip off and fall if its on the ground. and if you need storage space, buy an over-head mesh shelf for ten bucks, of put it outside in your vestibule. OR, if you really are a complete pussy at camping, sew velcro onto the bottom of your bag and glue some to your cot. but of course, thats only if you’re a complete pussy

Beleive it or not hair spray will work to give some texture to the nylon and will prevent slipping. Not to mention the sweet nature aroma of alcohol!
