I go camping and backpacking twice a month. I have logged over 1000 miles.Bring sturdy shoes. Bring a 20 degree or lower sleeping bag. DON’T BRING COTTON CLOTHES UNLESS YOU COULD CARE LESS ABOUT HAVING THEM BE WET THE ENTIRE TRIP. DON’T BRING A DOWN SLEEPING BAG FOR THE SAME REASON. I couldn’t tell you about the grill because I use a tiny stove that weighs less than a pound.You might be able to get a good lightweight one from a sporting goods store that people use for tailgating. I have a small Weber for tailgating.

Lake Camanche can get hot so if you have one of those shade things, bring that. The campsites don’t have much shade. I use a Weber portable grill with the green propane tanks you throw away when used up. I have tried 3 different portable grills and like the Weber best because you can regulate the temperature easily and it doesn’t always blow out with a little wind. Don’t forget bug spray too. Have a great camping trip. I’m going camping for 7 days very soon, but to the California coast.
