I am 16 and I absolutely love to cook but have no formal experience. I live in Santa Barbara, CA and am looking for a summer program in an interesting place in either the U.S. (for example NYC, California, Boston, Seattle, etc.) or maybe abroad (Italy, France, Spain etc.) where I can learn pretty intensively some new cooking skills, dishes, and techniques. I'm looking for the kind of program where high school students who love to cook from all different places go to the program location and take cooking classes for a large part of the time with room and board included, plus maybe some cultural experiences as well. There are so many summer programs aborad for high schoolers that involve service projects, language learning, writing, science etc. and I'm looking for something like that but with the focus being cooking. Money is not an issue and the desired time frame is about 2-4 weeks, though that is flexible. Let me know if you know of any refutable camps of the above description!
