The stoves for outdoor cooking enable those who enjoy the wonderful outdoors, to prepare delightful dishes, when they are away from their homes. The term "stove" refers to an appliance employed for cooking purposes or for heat generation. A camper or a backpacker requires an outdoor stove for cooking. Quite a few of the outdoor camping expeditions can continue for a number of days and call for cooking expertise to handle a lot of meals. These outdoor stoves are well accepted since the heat can be regulated as compared with open fires. The cooking stoves for outdoor use take much less time to cook food than charcoal grills. Every time you set fire to the charcoal, you are heavily dependent on the outside weather conditions. Many a times, when your survey team members and you return to the campsite, you are far too tired and famished to contend with making repeated attempts to light the charcoal.
In spite of the arguments regarding cooking stoves, F.W. Linqvist is acknowledged as the person who registered a patent, way back in 1880, for a burner that ran on kerosene. In the Roman era, stoves were made using earthenware, clay, and tile. The discovery of some attractively tinted glazed tile cooking stoves, dating back to the 16th - 17th century, suggest the effect of Moorish influence.
With technological advancement and the extensive use of electricity, coal fueled or wood burning cooking ranges have turned obsolete. These days the Pressurized burner cooking stoves are commonly used, since its potential to set ablaze any type of extremely inflammable liquid such as diesel, alcohol, or other type of motor fuels makes it very handy. Although, these stoves are far more complicated to manage, and more cumbersome to use than other stoves, they can certainly warm and cook the food far more quickly.
The stoves for outdoor cooking are available in a wide array of designs and styles. Some have replenishable gas-bottle stoves and gas-cartridge stoves. This makes it very easy to transport the stove, since the liquid can be carried in a separate container. You can always think about taking it with you on your camping trips, since it is convenient to cook on as well as to carry.
Stoves for outdoor cooking come in various sizes. Backpacking stoves can be the apt choice when traveling over long distances. The stove includes a burner, which enable the camper to prepare one dish at a time. Further outdoor stoves for cooking are larger, and can be transported by canoe, car, or horseback. They can store more fuel and can facilitate the preparation of more than a single main dish at a time. Usually, they are available with two or more burners.
Stoves for outdoor cooking are an excellent selection for outdoor camping, catering or social gatherings and in addition, they make your fishing and hunting expeditions more enjoyable. The outdoor stoves are sound and strong and are made to endure the severe climatic conditions. They are reasonably priced and can be made use of on the route or in your own backyard!

grilling outdoors for the first time?
our landord is getting our kitchen redone (one that i share with 3 other people) and today the entire appliances such as the stove and oven were wripped out, as well as a sink and our cabinets. Here are the options of ways we could still make food:
we have a really ancient, ugly and overgrown mini 'brick bbq's in our back yard that looks similar to this picture but ours is not nearly as big or nice as this:http://www.brookstonemasonry.com/outdoor%20grills/Outdoor%20grill.jpg
I have no choice but to use this but how?. please, i beg you, do not make fun of me or call me a dumb you-know-what for asking this 'idiotic' question but i honestly do not know how to use it, i was raised in a vegetarian family so we never grilled or used anything like this before. I am very lost but my roommate and I are desperate. how do we get this thing to work?. I assume it needs charcoal and lighter fluid but what else?. Even if i pulled out the majority of the weeds and did some serious cutting of the growth, do you think it would be still safe to use?. Judging by the overgrown plants in and around it, I am guessing this has not been used in 5-8 years. We are kind of broke so getting take-out every night is not a option. one of my roomies has a microwave but id prefer not to use it if i don't have to. We also have a tiny mini charcoal grill that might be better to use. I could borrow my neighbors george foreman grill?, any ideas?

Why do the lightbulbs keep going out in my house?
We live in a 2600 SQFT ranch style home in Florida and we are having a problem with lightbulbs going out. Especially the outdoor coach lights, sometimes they don't even last a week. The light underneath the microwave (over the stove) goes out several times per year too. Could there be some sort of electrical short in the wiring in our home?

My female kitty has a huge behavioral issue?
I have had her since she was young [about 6 months old] and now she is about 4 years old. She was a gift to me from a friend, whom I had lived with until about a year ago. When I moved, she stayed behind until I acquired her again in late June. She was the only cat in her previous home [aside from another outdoor cat that would peek at her through the windows] -- and she was exclusively indoors only.
Now that I have her back again, she is now 1 of 5 cats. I know her problem is purely behavioral since she NEVER had the issues before that she has now...
She constantly hides, and she is terrified of my boyfriend at times but if I'm around her and him at the same time she will sit with him and be very loving [the same was she was before she came to live with me]. She pees everywhere: on the kitchen counter, on the stove top, on the floor, in the carrier [where she likes to hide sometimes when she isn't hiding under furniture], in the hall... and she'll make the most hideous screaming sounds because she thinks she is being attacked by him when all he wants to do is pick her up and love her.
She tolerates the other cats well enough these days, but they still don't truly "get along" -- they more or less ignore her. They're all males, and she's the only female. I've tried the Feliway pheromone diffuser, which seemed to keep the peace decently but she still had some issues.
How can I get her to calm the hell down? The only one she responds to positively is me, and I'm usually gone all day long which means my boyfriend is mostly the one that is home with her. Abandoning her or euthanasia is NOT AN OPTION, so don't even think to suggest that.
I am honestly wondering if it's come down to using "kitty prozac" or something similar. I can't keep having this happen, as it makes ME extremely upset. I need answers, people!!

Can I hook up my propane grill to the propane in my house, or do I have to buy one of the small tanks?
I have propane in my house used for a stove, dryer and gas fireplace. The propane is supplied at 11 inches water column. Can I just connect my propane grill to an existing outdoor stub from my house propane, which has a shut off valve and is located right where I would like to put the grill, or do I have to buy and use the small tanks everyone seems to have? Would I have to buy trac pipe or some special connector?

I need to cook a recipe @ about 900 degrees. Ideas how to get that temp @ home w/ an electric stove top & w?
I have a favorite Chinese Recipe I want to try and the provider said one of the secrets of chinese cooking is using a Wok that will cook at around 900 degrees to sear the food quickly.
I have an electric stove top at home...any ideas how to get that temperature using a wok? Is there a 'Wok Grill' set that would allow me to reach that temperature or something like convection, etc?
Also does anyone know how hot a typical gas outdoor grill gets? Maybe I could use that?

What is your opinion of the Svea 123?

And will 4700 BTU be enough for my needs? I go camping a few times a year in temperatures below 10*F, and this stove needs to work down to about -15*F.

feelings hurt by an introverted roommate, any coping advice?
i've recently moved in with an old friend (i have been living in another state for the last 10 years) at his invitation. he needed a house-sitter/roommate for his home because his job has generally been taking him away 3 weeks per month and he worries about leaving his 4 bedroom house vacant and unmaintained. i am planning a move to france in spring of next year, so it seemed like a great temporary situation for me with someone i like. i am a female mild introvert in my early 40's, as is he.
i moved in sept and spent the first 3 weeks in the house alone. though i made a big effort not to disturb the existing arrangements, he wasn't here and had left no space for me; the cupboards, closets, and even all the bedrooms were filled with furniture. my room is in the basement which also has a tiny bathroom and a sitting area, but no cable, internet, kitchen, or outdoor access. i assumed we would share the communal areas (kitchen, living, dining) and made the mistake of using those areas for about 1-2 hours a day in the first week or two he was here. i started sensing a very irritated vibe from him, but couldn't figure out what was wrong. he never said hello or goodbye, refused any invitation i offered (meals, dvd, etc), and generally acted irritated or interrupted whenever i asked him a question(practical things like garbage days, where to put things, ect).
my feelings were hurt and i started to withdraw into the basement. to his credit, after about 6 weeks, he did hook up a wireless internet box so i can use my laptop downstairs, and hooked up an extra basic cable box he had, but this seems only fair as i am paying rent and 1/2 of all the bills (including his tivo which isn't wired downstairs). 4 or 5 days would go by without our speaking to each other. silence and quiet are fine with me, but this quiet is tense and feels almost faintly hostile...
last time he left for 2 months and scheduled a kitchen remodel during his absence (which he had not warned me about before i moved in). for 4.5 weeks i had no stove, no sink except a miniscule bathroom basement sink, no kitchen counter, plastic on the walls and floors, etc. he left me with the responsibility of dealing with the contractor, choosing wall paint color, chosing tiles, and making all many decisions in his absence. i even ended up paying over $1,000 expenses for him (which i don't mind, he is totally responsible, i just want to show i'm making an effort). i cleaned the entire upstairs (or should i say HIS space) after the work was finished out of necessity. he got home 2 weeks later to a spotless house, paid bills, etc. he didn't thank me for any of it, just said he was sorry he had figured the work would only be a couple days.
after arriving home last week he said he wanted to decorate the house for xmas, and go get a tree. we went together to buy a tree (our first joint activity of any kind in the 4 months since i came), which i paid for, and then he immediately started complaining that he wanted to go home. so we put the tree in the garage, and i told him that whenever he was ready to decorate to let me know. he ends up "sneaking" the tree out the garage door and around the house (so he doesn't pass me holed up in the basement), takes it upstairs, and decorates it while i am downstairs on the computer waiting for him to come get me. when i later went up to the kitchen for a drink i see the tree up, the decor finished and he is relaxing on the couch. it's very clear that my presence upstairs isn't desired.
i can't help but take this as an indication that he doesn't want me living in his house. we don't speak except for a few words every 4-5 days, and i'm living in a dark basement afraid to even cook a regular meal for myself because i feel like i'm disturbing him doing anything upstairs.
so five days ago i told him nicely that i was looking for another place and would be out as soon as i could. he acted suprised and asked why. shocked, i told him it obviously wasn't working out and cited several examples of why i felt "bad energy". he didn't say much, and i went back downstairs. the next morning he came downstairs and said he wanted to apologize. he said he had thought about it all night, he had acted like a jerk, he completely understood how i felt and he was sorry he had hurt my feelings. he said he was just "that way", and that it had nothing to do with me. THEN he said not only did he want me not to have to move, but that he both wants and needs me to stay as he will be traveling for 2.5 months beginning late jan and doesn't want to leave the house empty.
how do i live in this situation without constantly getting my feelings hurt? i tell myself this is not about me, but long ago we used to be great friends, and i feel like his behavior has not just signaled lack of caring, but actual contempt. though he says otherwise, his behavior makes me feel like i am doing something wrong just by being here. i

Cat-Scratch Fever?
I have a indoor/outdoor cat and lately I've noticed that the inside of his mouth tastes like a different brand of cat food than I've been giving him. Do you think he's eating food at another house and eating here like in that Stove Top commercial?
