Thermals/long underwear. Thin, insulates and you can sleep in them and put clothes over. Without all the weight or thickness.
I’ve seen them for $10 for the bottoms. Tops I think you can make do with a regular long-sleeve.

Long sleeve shirts under hoodies under coats, jeans, and a pair of tennis shoes (probably a second pair in your bags just in case). Don’t try to be stylish when camping, because you never know if the clothes will get ruined. To save a little space wear your jeans two days in a row (rotate if you feel weird about that). So you’ll only need four pairs instead of seven or eight. Sweat pants are good for night time too, but jeans are more durable for the day.
